  • Melancholia of the Living

    May 10th, 2020

    Suffering of a heavy heart causes weeping unceasing.
    Winds through willow trees blow and their leaves know
    The coming lament of the season;
    Eyes cry sometimes for no known reason.
    The feelings of yesteryear are still there,
    But the resolve to keep living is hard to muster.
    In last shallow breaths with arms outstretched they call for their mothers.
    The movie of their lives are played within the blinking of an eye;
    The foundations shake, and soaring eagles start to cry.
    The stillness of lifelessness is contemplated …
    The living go on in agony and forlorn, in disconcerted waiting.
    Cold darkness calls in seductive whispers,
    Promising peace and tranquility to the listener,
    But the primal instinct to survive causes rise,
    And the tormented continue to live and suffer.
    Oh, that they could live without pain and agony in blissful harmony.
    The burdens of the anxious and the oppressed are many;
    The blissful and the happy are looked upon with wondrous envy.
    Who will hear the wails of the sorrowful?
    Who will take up their banners and resume their march
    While they lie in wounded state paralyzed with the prognosis of their fate?

    Oh heaven hear their plea, for their suffering is constant
    And their pain unbearable. Grant them reprieve, for they
    Fall to their knees overcome with sorrow and are no longer able.

    Tears are blown in the wind in winter chill,
    With ashen faces solemn and still.
    They hold on for another season.

  • You Reached For Me

    May 9th, 2020

    It was at my lowest point you saw me;
    Still you reached for me.
    In your tender kisses and warmth you embraced me;
    With tears in your eyes, you told me that you loved me;
    What can I render to you for rescuing me?
    Affectionately, I call you ‘baby.’
    We are inseparable for all eternity.

    Karyn White – Love Saw It

  • Now, I See

    May 9th, 2020

    Tears blurred sorrowful eyes that couldn’t see you clearly,
    But it was you all this time who was there for me;
    At night loving whispers constantly encouraged me.
    It was an epiphany when you told me you loved me;
    Now through clear eyes I kiss you as you embrace me.

    Memories of summer kisses, loving faces, and childhood bliss
    Illuminate the spirit and purges the darkness.

  • Lovers

    May 7th, 2020

    I had lost myself in you. The many pieces of me scattered over the battlefields of lost love, mixed in with jealously, nonsensical arguments, and other emotional debris. Every time you leave you take a piece of me, but I want you to remember me so I give willingly. Years go by but the ‘what ifs’ still haunt me. Was it her? Was it me, or was it we? In my eyes you are a creation of beauty. They say the destiny of the misunderstood is to be lonely. I commune with myself with past memories as my only company; the sensual whispers, deep kisses and your laughter especially. A strand of your hair found on a pillow is enough to invoke emotions in me that I would otherwise never know. Like a strong tide, you pull me to and fro; I struggle to swim and get back to shore, but upon my return the man I used be is no more. Inadvertently, you also left a piece of yourself with me as you walked out of the door. Goodbye kisses turn into final intimate experiences, and then again last words are spoken. I wait until you drive off to commence my long held weeping. Tears still flow even after the third day of mourning. To dull the pain, old numbers are called and familiar voices answer, but it’s not the same. I try to pull away from you, but seemingly we are conjoined; it was a revelation to me when I realized my heart was no longer mine. A collage of past loves adorn the wall of my heart like a gallery of fine art;  each one with their own unique story, narrated with powerful oratory. If you ever need me, send for me with love, addressed, in care of my heart with the postage of white doves, sealed with a kiss and scented with the perfume I most miss.

    With held breaths and measured steps
    We open our eyes to the light;
    One by one, we embrace the sun

    After surviving the night.

  • Tears of the Lost

    May 5th, 2020

    In darkness we exist yet we dance.
    We pray for light showers,
    But our portion is torrential rain.
    Unending consternation is our pain;
    We fight for our plight,
    But the years seem the same.
    The fire within is lit,
    But the vigor of the heart wanes.
    In-between torment and loving sentiments
    Chronic insomniacs sleep briefly;
    Even on good days eyes are still weepy.
    We cry from our souls,
    But there is no one to hold.
    Warmth is dreamed of,
    But stark reality is cold;
    Even the children weep with stories untold.
    Oh dear heaven, comfort them
    And let their wings unfold.
    White doves fly against a clear blue background
    And are a signal for hope.
    We have been lost, as strong tides
    Pull us further and further from the shore.
    We wade in deep blue waters and dream
    Of a place where we weep no more.

  • I Breathe You

    May 5th, 2020

    Sensual whispers and endless kisses are not enough.
    You must reach your climax;
    Your soul I must touch.

  • The Borinqueña I Remember

    May 3rd, 2020

    We were lovers for two summers
    Taking walks together, holding hands,
    And eagerly discovering each other.
    You had dark hair with highlights
    Past your shoulder, two gold Figaro chains
    With a crucifix and your name,
    Brown Timberland boots,
    And a tattoo on your shoulder
    Prominently displaying the face of your mother.
    With passionate kisses I was enraptured in your aura;
    I still remember you, my beautiful Borinqueña.

  • Gentle Lies

    May 3rd, 2020

    In-between sweet lullabies, kisses,
    And seemingly sincere cries
    You told me you loved me
    With beautiful hazel eyes

    And pacified me skillfully
    With gentle lies.
