With many agonies
And inner pain
Through dark nights
And the dawn again
She lived with scourge
And cold dark rain
For the secrets she held
She took the blame
They called her crazy
A woman insane
The vilest among them
Even cursed her name
Until that day an angel came
And said to her;
In you I see the same
It was not your fault
You are not to blame
Within you is light
And a hidden flame
My daughter be at peace
And let healing reign
Suffer no more
And break the chains
The world is yours
For blessed is your name
Embrace your light
And live again. -
In her he finds comfort. In her he can have a moment’s peace.

In weeping I have found my strength;
In suffering I have found my endurance.
The world may burn
but my feet shall not be scorched.
Like seagrass I will move to and fro
in violent tides but shall be at peace.
In my weariness I will remember
The comfort of my mother;
In my darkness I will unrepentantly
And angrily curse the name of my father.
I shall be uninhibited; I will not be contained;
I shall not be swayed;
Like a giant oak tree I shall stand
Alone in sprawling glory.
I will not wither, but thrive.
I will not fold, but flourish.
Precious memories will sustain me,
And the love in my heart shall nourish me.
Vile words and bad intentions
Shall not prevail against me.
I am a mangrove forest anchored in deep waters.
Like the Harpy Eagle,
I will be extremely focused and resolved.
I will not be shaken;
I shall not be bound. -
We danced wildly on god forsaken nights
Making our way through the rot and decay of urban blight
Through the fire we walked side by side
And held each other as we cried
We no longer looked to the skies
But found strength in each other’s youthful eyes
Let all that are gone be reminisced in wondrous dreams
In our hearts we hold you in high esteemWe all love you
We will search for you and find you in the starlight
We are the children of fire
The motherless and fatherless born of pain
Children of the night wild and untamed
Oh the pain that we endured
The horrors that tender eyes had seen
It was the fire in us that kept us warm on freezing nights
We will cross that peaceful stream
And at that beautiful gathering reunite
Let all our memories be resurrected in light -
The darkness scares
The darkness frights
He must learn to embrace the darkness,
And drown it in light. -

… And on that night she danced with death, but never felt so alive.

You are strong.
You are loved. -
In my suffering I have found my strength.

With tears in her eyes she dusts off her old satin ballet slippers.
In darkness she gracefully dances once more;
Pointed toes grace finely polished wooden floors.She is not broken;
She is not too old;
She is not cast away.If she had danced in front of an audience they would have cried.
She composes a wonderful poem with her movements;
Her ballad is beautiful; my god, it’s beautiful.In silence, only her movements can be heard;
She dances to the song in her heart.
Fluid movement; She flows … she is a river.The twinkling stars give thunderous applause.
